"Turkey-Africa 1st Agriculture Ministers Meeting and Agribusiness Forum" introduced

22.01.2017 Deputy Minister of Food Agriculture and Livestock Mr. Mehmet DANİŞ emphasized that Turkish private companies has provided employment opportunities in Africa and in addition to this told that the Republic of Turkey strives to contribute finding economic and humanitarian solutions to the problems encountered by the least developed and developing countries. For the representatives of the Ambassadors of African countries' in Ankara and International Organizations; in the scope of "Turkey-Africa 1st Agriculture Ministers Meeting and Agribusiness Forum" to be held in Antalya on 27-28 April 2017 an introductory meeting was held within the Ministry. In his address, Honorable Mr. DANİŞ noted that Turkey has a long historical relationship with African countries and these relations have to be moved further. Honorable Deputy Minister DANİŞ stated an emphasize on Turkish companies efforts on providing employment opportunities for many people in Africa and expressed "with a stable and growing economy, global leadership position in agriculture and sociocultural diversity, Turkey strives to contribute finding economic and humanitarian solutions to the problems encountered by the least developed and developing countries. Having mentioned about the rural development policy in Turkey, DANİŞ stated that: "The main objective of this policy is to enhance the living and working conditions in their respective locality of rural community. Poverty reduction through the development of human resources, improvement of social and substantial infrastructure and rural environment protection with natural resources are targeted by means of rural development policy. We have determined “Turkey-Africa Partnership on Rural Development for Achieving Food Security” as the theme of Agriculture Ministers Meeting to be held in April for the exchange of our experiences in the field of rural development.” H.E. DANİŞ, told in his speech that the failed coup attempt on 15 July 2016 made Turkey stronger than ever and led to build a culture of compromise. After the speech, an introductory presentation has been made by EU Expert Aykut ORDUKAYA regarding the meeting and the business forum.
